Ornaments to Remember: - DARTBOARD Christmas Ornament
Brand New
Description
- An original design by Ornaments to Remember.
- Handcrafted by EUROPEAN artisans.
- Cue up the color in your game room.
- DARTBOARD ornament height: 3 inches.
- Fun and relaxing, the game of dartboards is thought to have originated in medieval Europe with soldiers throwing short arrows at the bottom of a wine cask or at the bottom of trunks of trees.
- As the wood dried, cracks would develop, creating 'sections.' Soon, regional standards and local competitions emerged, with local pubs supplementing their bar tabs by hosting the games.
- Originally considered a game of chance by English law, Darts is now regarded as a game of skill (or lack thereof). Popular in many countries, darts continues to be played primarily in pubs, often for pints of beer.
- It is also played professionally, and most pro players use a nickname that is anything from comical to intimidating. Examples include Smiley, The Legend, The Matchstick, and McDanger.
- As popular today as ever before, dartboards continue to offer a fun and friendly way to enjoy good-natured competition between family and friends.
